Storyfied Ventures, a new Dubai-based company, has launched to create strategic partnerships between brands and entertainment content in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Producer Casper Shirazi is leading the startup, which aims to be the region's premier strategic brand-entertainment partner.
The company will operate across various content forms, including film, television, documentaries, and creator content. Its core mission is to assist brands in transforming their narratives into monetizable intellectual property, with screen-IP serving as the foundation for extensions into consumer products and other business lines.
Storyfied Ventures is supported by a board including Catherine Barr, Global Head of Marketing at Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, and entertainment lawyer Joseph Lanius. Shirazi highlighted the need for brands to build 360-degree relationships with audiences through owned narrative IP, especially in the current fragmented media environment. He believes this approach is crucial for building trust and confidence in the MENA region, especially during uncertain times.
Shirazi emphasized that while short-form content aids discovery, long-form screen content is vital for sustained engagement and audience affinity. He noted a regional shortage of owned narrative IP that can extend brand relevance and cultivate audience advocates. Storyfied Ventures aims to define a new content economy for the region, centered on brand-owned IP.
