Stick Men, featuring King Crimson veterans Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto alongside Markus Reuter, will release their new album 'Let's THRAK Again' on September 4. This album is described as a Robert Fripp-approved homage that reimagines the sonic philosophy of King Crimson's influential 1995 album, THRAK. The first single, "Swimming in Tea," has been released, featuring Markus Reuter's vocals and Tony Levin's distinctive Chapman Stick playing.
Loyal fans of progressive rock will recognize the esteemed musicians involved. Tony Levin is renowned for his extensive work with artists like Peter Gabriel and his status as a highly influential bassist. Pat Mastelotto contributed to King Crimson's industrial-leaning sound in the late '90s with his unique percussion approach. Markus Reuter has developed a singular style on his custom eight-string Touch Guitar.
In keeping with progressive music traditions, 'Let's THRAK Again' will be presented as two distinct listening experiences: "Reel One" and "Reel Two." Mixed by different engineers, these versions will offer alternate sequences, mixes, and sonic perspectives, emphasizing the band's dedication to architectural sound design. This dual approach serves as a tribute to the original THRAK era's heavy, mechanical impact.
