18-Year-Old Producer's Dazzling iPhone Demo

Steve Lacy, an 18-year-old producer and member of the band The Internet, has released his debut project, "Steve Lacy's Demo." This 13-minute collection of six tracks showcases a vibrant blend of classic Southern California funk and soul. Remarkably, the majority of the music was produced using only an iPhone, demonstrating Lacy's innovative approach to music creation.

Lacy's musical journey began in his school's jazz band, where he met Jameel Bruner. This connection eventually led him to join The Internet, contributing significantly to their Grammy-nominated album "Ego Death." His solo project, classified as a "song series," features sophisticated arrangements and deep musicality, defying its short duration.
