Steve Carell: I Never Watched The Office UK

Steve Carell, a celebrated actor from the American version of "The Office," intentionally abstained from watching the original British series. He expressed that his decision stemmed from a desire to avoid imitation and to fully develop his own interpretation of the character.

Carell explained that he watched mere moments of the original show's initial episode. He found the lead actor, Ricky Gervais, to be exceptionally talented and specific in his performance. Carell worried that further viewing would compel him to replicate Gervais's style, thus hindering his ability to create a distinct character for the US adaptation.
