Custody War: Ex Accused of Turning Daughter Against New Wife

Steve Burton has accused his ex-wife, Sheree Gustin, of parental alienation in their ongoing custody battle over their daughter, Brooklyn. According to court documents filed by Burton, Gustin allegedly told Brooklyn that his new wife and stepsisters were not family and deleted messages between the sisters. Burton claims Gustin also accused him and his wife of 'brainwashing' their daughter, leading to Brooklyn exhibiting fearful behavior, such as whispering during calls.

These allegations stem from a contentious divorce, which Burton attributes to Gustin's "affair and pregnancy outside the marriage." Despite this, Burton asserts that Gustin continues to harbor significant anger towards his new wife. The legal conflict also involves a dispute over residency, with Gustin reportedly planning to move to Tennessee shortly after Burton's return to California. Burton permanently relocated to California in June 2026 to fulfill a three-year contract with 'General Hospital.' He is now requesting court orders to ensure uninterrupted communication with Brooklyn and to allow her to use a cell phone during his visits.
