Hollywood Stars Flee Scientology Cult Claims

Several prominent Hollywood figures have recently severed ties with the Church of Scientology, citing concerns about its practices and alleged harmful effects. Stars such as Laura Prepon, Leah Remini, and Jason Beghe have shared their departures from the organization. Prepon, previously an advocate, revealed her quiet exit in 2021, noting she found solace in other spiritual practices. Remini left in 2013 after three decades, motivated by a desire to protect her daughter from alleged childhood trauma within the church. Beghe publicly condemned Scientology in 2008, calling it dangerous for mental and emotional health, and later appeared in a documentary critical of the church.

The controversies have intensified following Danny Masterson's conviction for rape. Masterson was reportedly declared a "suppressive person" by the church, a status requiring loved ones to cut ties with him. His ex-wife, Bijou Phillips, reportedly chose to leave Scientology to maintain contact with him. Allegations have also surfaced suggesting the Church of Scientology may have been involved in Masterson's rape case, with claims that victims were discouraged from reporting him to the authorities. The church has denied these allegations, stating it does not prohibit members from reporting criminal conduct.
