Bethesda's acclaimed sci-fi title, Starfield, is now officially available on the PlayStation 5 starting April 7th. This release marks a significant expansion for the game, which was initially launched on Xbox and PC approximately three years prior. The PS5 version will leverage the DualSense controller's advanced features, and PS5 Pro users will have options to optimize for frame rate or visual fidelity.
The launch day also ushers in substantial content updates. A paid expansion, 'Terran Armada,' introduces a new questline with fresh characters, locations, and enemies focused on combating robotic forces. Complementing this is the free 'Free Lanes' update, which adds new explorable areas, a resource for upgrades, an additional land vehicle, enhanced outpost storage access, and new crew members. A New Game Plus mode enhancement is also included.
Bethesda is positioning these additions as 'the next chapter' for Starfield, aiming to deliver a more complete and refined experience to a wider audience. To encourage new player acquisition, the base game of Starfield is being offered at a reduced price of $49.99.
