- The photos were taken in the NYC subway in 1946.
- An entertainment figure purchased all 18 prints.

Rarely seen photographs captured by a teenage Stanley Kubrick on the New York City subway in 1946 have recently been uncovered. These 18 vintage prints represent some of the future director's earliest known work, taken when he was a young photographer for Look Magazine. The images lay hidden for eight decades within a large archive before being discovered by a gallery owner.
Kubrick's distinctive storytelling and mystery are evident even in these early shots, which depict a bygone era of subway travel. The exhibition, featuring these unearthed photos, is currently on display in New York. All 18 prints have already been acquired by an unnamed, prominent entertainment figure and will soon be removed from public view.
