Sophia Stallone is set to produce the film adaptation of K.L. Walther's widely popular young adult romance novel, 'The Summer of Broken Rules.' This collaboration with her father, Sylvester Stallone, and Amazon MGM Studios marks a significant expansion for Sophia's production company, Common Era Projects. The novel, a #1 New York Times and USA Today bestseller, centers on Meredith Fox, who navigates grief and family traditions on Martha's Vineyard.
The adaptation is being penned by screenwriters Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin, known for their work on Disney's Mulan and Netflix's Spellbound. Sophia's father, Sylvester Stallone, will also produce through his company, Balboa Productions, which recently renewed its first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios. This project signifies a departure from Sylvester's iconic tough-guy roles, venturing into the romance genre.
Parallel to Sophia's film endeavors, her sister Scarlet Rose Stallone is solidifying her presence in Hollywood. Scarlet has been named a series regular for the fifth season of Paramount+'s Tulsa King, where she stars alongside Sylvester. Her character, Spencer, is slated for further development, evolving from a barista to a more significant role in the upcoming seasons. The series itself is moving production to New York for its fourth season, focusing on Dwight's return to his Mafia roots.
