Brass Instruments Find New Life Overseas After Stage Play
7 Jul
Summary
- Instruments from Brassed Off stage production will be donated.
- Donations will go to young musicians in Kenya and Cape Verde.
- Leeds Playhouse production supports local music shop's charity.

Instruments central to a stage adaptation of the beloved Yorkshire film Brassed Off are slated for donation to young musicians in Kenya and Cape Verde. The production, which closes this Saturday, will see its brass and woodwind instruments returned to the All Brass & Woodwind shop.
Owner Dave Walker, who sourced the historically accurate instruments for the Leeds Playhouse production, will then arrange for their shipment overseas. Walker expressed his satisfaction in contributing to this cause, hoping the play's success also sparks greater interest in brass instruments. The instruments will support music schools and community projects, offering opportunities to those who might not otherwise access such quality equipment.
