Shah Rukh Khan's eagerly awaited film, 'King', directed by Siddharth Anand, is poised for a Christmas weekend release. The film has already ignited considerable excitement, and reports suggest Zee Music has acquired its music rights for a monumental ₹50 crore, potentially a record-shattering deal.
Punit Goenka, MD and CEO of Zee Entertainment Enterprises, commented on the ongoing discussions, stating that while dialogues are progressing, no definitive agreement has been reached. He highlighted the promising nature of the music industry due to its evergreen content and Zee Music's history of sharing profits with producers.
This reported deal follows other substantial music rights acquisitions, including T-Series reportedly securing rights for 'Ramayana' for ₹75 crore and previously for 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' and 'Pushpa 2' at ₹54 crore and ₹50 crore respectively.
'King' features music composed by Sachin-Jigar, with background score and theme music by Anirudh Ravichander. The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Films and boasts an ensemble cast including Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone.
