Sridevi, celebrated as one of Indian cinema's most influential actresses, consistently set clear personal and professional boundaries. During the production of the film 'Guru,' she firmly declined to perform a kissing scene with co-star Mithun Chakraborty.

Despite Sridevi's explicit refusal, director Umesh Mehra is reported to have included the scene using a workaround. This alleged deception led to significant controversy, with Sridevi's mother vehemently opposing the director's actions and demanding the scene's removal.
