In the entertainment industry, where sharing the screen with Amitabh Bachchan was considered every actor's dream, one superstar stood her ground - Sridevi. The late actress was adamant about never playing second fiddle to any male star, not even the legendary Big B. However, it took a grand gesture straight out of a Bollywood script to make her reconsider.
As revealed in a recent book, choreographer Saroj Khan recalled the stunning moment on set when a truck full of roses arrived, and the entire carrier tilted over, showering the flowers on Sridevi. Despite being deeply moved by this display, the actress remained unconvinced, insisting she wanted a role with substance.
Sridevi then placed a unique condition - she would only act alongside Amitabh Bachchan if she got to play both his wife and daughter in the film. Producers Manoj Desai and Mukul Anand agreed, leading to the creation of the 1992 epic 'Khuda Gawah', which went on to become a blockbuster. This was not the first time the two stars were set to collaborate, as they were previously slated to star in the unreleased film 'Ram Ki Seeta Shyam Ki Geeta', which would have also featured double roles for both.
Sridevi's unwavering stance and her ability to negotiate her terms showcase her remarkable talent and influence in the industry. Even years after her passing in 2018, Amitabh Bachchan's emotional farewell and the eerie premonition he shared just hours before her death serve as a testament to the enduring legacy of this iconic actress.
