Sri Lankan Artist's Cubist Masterpieces Captivate Delhi Audiences

In October 2025, IndiGalleria presented Sri Lankan artist Raja Segar's work in India for the first time with 'Rhythmic Sagas,' a solo exhibition at LTC, Bikaner House, New Delhi. The show, which opened with a private viewing on October 9th, was attended by media and invited guests, and was inaugurated by H.E. Mahishini Colonne, the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, and artist Arpana Caur as chief guests.

Curated by Aakshat Sinha, the exhibition showcased Segar's distinctive cubist interpretations of music, human connection, and daily life. Known for his use of refractive geometry and symbolic figures, Segar's paintings featured dancers, tea pluckers, and mythic characters. His work has previously been exhibited in Sri Lanka, Australia, Singapore, and the UK.

Reflecting on his debut in the capital, Segar said, "Art has always been my way of turning the rhythms of everyday life into something eternal. Whether it is a dancer, a tea plucker, or a god, I try to capture the music that flows within them. Bringing my work to Delhi for the first time is both an honor and a joy." Curator Sinha described Segar's practice as one that "smiles at those who witness it," calling him "a prolific artist who paints as if it were breathing -- daily, tirelessly, joyously."
