Sree Vishnu Film Mrithyunjay is a Box Office Flop
13 Mar
Summary
- Mrithyunjay collected less than 6 crore in its opening week.
- The film recovered only 37.35% of its 14 crore budget.
- It is Sree Vishnu's second consecutive box office failure.

Sree Vishnu's film, Mrithyunjay, has concluded its first week at the Indian box office with disappointing results, grossing an estimated 5.23 crore net. The movie, released on March 6, earned 35 lakh on its seventh day, a slight increase from the previous day but not enough to change its trajectory. Facing a reported budget of 14 crore, Mrithyunjay has so far recovered only 37.35% of its production cost.
Directed by Hussain Sha Kiran, this Telugu action thriller is projected to end its lifetime run with collections below 10 crore net, according to reports. This outcome represents Sree Vishnu's second consecutive box office disappointment, following Vishnu Vinyasam. Despite receiving a positive rating of 9.3 out of 10 on BookMyShow, the film's commercial performance indicates a losing verdict.
The film's producers, Sandeep Gunnam and Vinay Chilakapati, alongside music composer Kaala Bhairava, are likely facing a significant deficit. To break even, Mrithyunjay would need to earn an additional 8.77 crore, a target considered highly improbable given its current performance.
Overall, the film is heading towards a recovery of over 50% of its budget, cementing its status as a box office failure. Further updates on its box office performance are expected.
