Summary
- Squid Game star Anupam Tripathi leads new Korean horror anthology film
- Film features 8 emerging Korean directors, linked by a mysterious app
- Scheduled for wide theatrical release in South Korea in February 2026

In November 2025, it was revealed that Squid Game star Anupam Tripathi is leading the cast of the upcoming Korean horror anthology film "App The Horror", which is currently in post-production. The film, directed by 8 emerging Korean filmmakers, is being produced by Hyung Seul-woo, the writer-director of the 2023 film Someone You Loved.
The feature, presented by Korea's newly launched company Anthology21, is centered around a mysterious app that "turns digital fear into real-world horror". Each segment of the film is linked by this app, and the project is scheduled for a wide theatrical release in South Korea in February 2026. Also starring in the film is Lim Ye-eun, known for her role in You and Everything Else.
According to Elliot Tong, Head of Sales and Acquisitions for Autumn Sun, the film's distributor in Asia and Russia, "It's been a long time since we've seen a bold and original Asian omnibus horror" like this. The company recently presented early footage to Asian buyers at the American Film Market, where the project was on sale. "Horror remains a consistently strong genre in Asia," Tong added, "and this project speaks directly to the MZ generation with its focus on the digital habits that have become so ubiquitous in daily life."
