Unveiled on July 8, 2026, the film's initial poster features actor Rajkummar Rao embodying Sourav Ganguly, recreating the legendary cricketer's iconic T-shirt waving celebration at Lord's 24 years ago, following India's 2002 NatWest Series victory.
Rajkummar Rao has undergone extensive preparation to capture Sourav Ganguly's mannerisms and physical presence. The biopic is set to document Ganguly's progression from his childhood in Behala to his distinguished career with the Indian cricket team.
Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, "Dada - The Sourav Ganguly Story" is slated for release on May 14, 2027. Filming commenced in April 2026, with scenes captured across various Kolkata locations, including Eden Gardens and the East Bengal Club grounds, mirroring key periods of Ganguly's life and career.
