Filming for the Sourav Ganguly biopic, tentatively titled 'Dada: The Sourav Ganguly Story,' has commenced in Mumbai. Rajkummar Rao is cast as the iconic cricketer, Sourav Ganguly. Saswata Chatterjee is portraying Sourav's father, Chandi Ganguly, marking a significant role in the film's narrative.
Aparajita Auddy and Rahul Dev Bose are also contributing to the ensemble cast, playing Sourav's mother, Nirupa, and his brother, Snehasish, respectively. The initial shooting phase is currently taking place in Mumbai. Sourav Ganguly himself made an appearance on set during the Sunday shoot, adding a personal touch to the production.
The production team is preparing to shift its filming locations to Kolkata towards the end of the current month. Tanya Maniktala has been confirmed to play Dona Ganguly, Sourav's wife. The biopic aims to chronicle Ganguly's entire career, from his early cricketing years to his influential captaincy, while also exploring his personal life and relationship with Dona.
