An art exhibition titled 'Soul Of Kashi' is currently on display at Kokoro Art Gallery, presenting the photographic works of Shailendra Kumar. The exhibition commenced on Thursday and will remain open to the public until March 20, operating daily from 11 am to 7 pm. Curated by Prof Vandana Sehgal, the collection aims to capture the enduring essence of Kashi, from its iconic ghats to its vibrant street life.
The exhibition features 22 photographs taken by Kumar between 1984 and 2026. A particularly engaging section is dedicated to 'Bhasma Holi,' showcasing photographs of ascetics covered in sacred ash and the unique atmosphere of this ritual. Visitors can also observe intimate portrayals of daily life along the Ganges, including boatmen, devotees, children at play, and artisans at work in the city's lanes.
