Joseph Gannascoli, who portrayed Vito Spatafore on The Sopranos, is currently embarking on a new health journey. The actor, previously a chef, achieved a significant 150-pound weight loss during his time on the hit HBO series, reducing his weight from 400 pounds to approximately 250 pounds. This weight loss was even incorporated into the show's storyline.
Now, nearly two decades after The Sopranos concluded, Gannascoli is dedicated to reaching a new goal. He plans to lose an additional 40 pounds within the next four months, in preparation for an upcoming television project. This new series is inspired by his 2006 book, "A Meal to Die For."
To achieve his target, Gannascoli has established a rigorous morning routine. His days commence around 6 a.m. with golf, followed by pickleball at 8 a.m., and then a dedicated gym session. He is focusing on weight training four times a week, increasing the weight and reducing repetitions to achieve a good sweat.
Gannascoli also practices intermittent fasting, typically abstaining from food after 2 p.m. He reports feeling and looking better now compared to his appearance during The Sopranos' run. The acclaimed series, which aired from 1999 to 2007, garnered 21 Primetime Emmy Awards.
