Sophia Laforteza Returns to Katseye in 2027 After Mental Health Break

Sophia Laforteza, a member of the girl group Katseye, has announced her return to active group activities beginning the first week of January 2027. This decision follows a period dedicated to prioritizing her mental health and overall well-being, with full support from her management and labels Hybe and Geffen.

While Laforteza will not participate in Katseye's upcoming North American tour, THE WILDWORLD TOUR, or promotional events for the rest of this year, her return in 2027 marks a new chapter for the group. The tour is scheduled to run from October 13 through November 28.

Loforteza had announced her hiatus in August, six months after bandmate Manon Bannerman took a similar break for mental health reasons. Laforteza shared on social media that she has been receiving necessary care and learning coping tools to support herself, thanking "Eyekons" for their unwavering kindness and understanding.

"My hope is to return feeling happier, healthier, stronger, more grounded, and ready to give you everything I've been wanting to give you," Laforteza stated. She expressed deep regret for missing the remainder of the tour this year but is committed to continued training and preparation for her comeback.
