Bush discussed this on her podcast, explaining that her passion for creating aesthetically pleasing spaces is a deeply cherished aspect of her life, even considering it an "alternate career."

Her extensive experience with various homes across different states likely fueled this passion. Bush also humorously shared her dilemma of accumulating an overwhelming amount of home decor, joking about needing a "Joanna Gaines-style warehouse" or a "cool, old estate" to store her "treasures and tchotchkes." Her wife, Ashlyn Harris, affectionately refers to these items as "trinkets and trash."

Despite her design acumen, Bush felt discussing her "own good taste" was too daunting for her memoir. She recalled childhood anecdotes where her knack for rearranging spaces was evident.
