Sony Pictures Boards 'The Silent Patient' Film

Sony Pictures has boarded the film adaptation of Alex Michaelides' best-selling novel, 'The Silent Patient.' The studio will collaborate with producers Annapurna and Plan B Entertainment on the project. This marks another literary adaptation for Sony Pictures, building on their past successes with films like 'It Ends With Us' and 'Where the Crawdads Sing.'

'The Silent Patient' follows Alicia Berenson, a painter who murders her husband and subsequently refuses to speak. Her silence garnishes her infamy and makes her art highly sought after. The story introduces Theo Faber, a determined therapist who endeavors to uncover the truth behind her silence.

Published in the US and UK, 'The Silent Patient' debuted at number one on The New York Times Bestseller list and has remained there for over 200 weeks. The novel has achieved international bestseller status, selling more than 12 million copies globally and being translated into 51 countries.
