Summary
- Sony and Atlas partner to adapt Tom Wolfe's 'The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test' for film
- Adaptation of Ken Kesey's 'Cuckoo's Nest' also in the works
- CAA issues stern rebuke of OpenAI's potential misuse of content without compensation

As of October 2025, Sony and Atlas have announced plans to adapt Tom Wolfe's seminal work 'The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test' into a feature film. The classic book, which chronicled the psychedelic exploits of author Ken Kesey and his Merry Pranksters, is set to receive the big-screen treatment.
Separately, a film adaptation of Kesey's own novel 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' is also in the works, as Hollywood continues to mine classic literary works for new cinematic projects.
Amidst this flurry of literary adaptations, top talent agency CAA has issued a stern rebuke of OpenAI and its potential to lift content without compensating artists. The agency has made it clear that the misuse of new technologies poses serious risks, and that creators deserve to be properly credited and paid for their work.
