Accomplished singer-songwriter BC Jean has made a name for herself in the music industry, most notably for writing Beyoncé's hit song "If I Were A Boy." But off the stage, BC Jean is also the wife of "Dancing with the Stars" pro Mark Ballas.
The couple first met at a mutual friend's party in 2012, where Ballas was immediately impressed by BC Jean's powerful vocals. "Right when I got there, the whole room was just watching this girl on stage, and she was killing it," Ballas recalled. "Her voice gave me the feels of a Janis Joplin. I was just blown away."
After exchanging numbers, BC Jean and Ballas developed a fast connection, both on and off the stage. In 2015, they joined musical forces to form the band Alexander Jean. The couple later announced their engagement in January 2016 and married that November.
More recently, in November 2023, Ballas and BC Jean welcomed their first child, a son named Banksi Wylde Ballas. The new parents have been overjoyed with their bundle of joy, with BC Jean sharing on Instagram, "Happy one month sweet boy. You are so loved."
