In an exciting development, Bollywood actress Sonal Chauhan has been cast in the upcoming film adaptation of the popular Prime Video series, Mirzapur. According to a source close to the production, Sonal's addition to the star-studded cast is expected to add a whole new layer to the plot, making the film even more compelling.
The Mirzapur film, which was announced last year, will see the return of fan-favorite characters like Kaleen Bhaiya, played by Pankaj Tripathi, as well as Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, and Shweta Tripathi. The crime thriller is being directed by Gurmmeet Singh and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment.
In a separate development, Sonal Chauhan is also set to make her Punjabi film debut with Shera, co-starring Parmish Verma. The film, written and directed by Savio Sanddhu, is scheduled for release in theaters on May 15, 2026.
