In October 2025, Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha shared glimpses of her visit to the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by her husband Zaheer Iqbal. The post comes just days after fellow actor Deepika Padukone faced online trolling for wearing a hijab in an Abu Dhabi tourism campaign.

However, Sonakshi's experience at the mosque has been met with largely positive reactions from her fans. Many highlighted the importance of respecting spiritual spaces regardless of one's religion, with one user noting, "In a temple or a mosque it's a spiritual thing to cover the heads, whether or not you're a Hindu or a Muslim. A society blinded and divided by religion will never understand the respect for spirituality."

Sonakshi has previously spoken openly about her interfaith marriage, sharing, "In how we are as a couple, no... there are certain customs that he and his family follow, which I really respect, and certain customs that me and my family follow, which they respect. Religion is something that will never come in between the two of us."
