24 Sep
Summary
- Soha's mother met Kunal Kemmu while he wore a bathrobe.
- Soha deferred telling her father about Kunal to her mother.
- Kunal informed his parents about Soha after nine months together.
Soha Ali Khan recounted the unique circumstances surrounding her mother Sharmila Tagore's first meeting with Kunal Kemmu. The encounter occurred on the set of the 2009 film '99,' where Kunal was filmed wearing a white bathrobe. Soha admitted she preferred her mother, Sharmila, to broach the subject of Kunal with her father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, as such personal discussions were not typical in their household.
Sharmila Tagore reportedly took a liking to Kunal Kemmu early on, finding him easy to get along with. She even attempted to cook for him, though she humorously needed assistance with operating the gas stove. This meeting was a significant step for both families.
Kunal Kemmu also faced the task of introducing Soha Ali Khan to his parents. After dating for approximately nine months, Kunal decided to inform them, partly motivated by circulating media reports about their relationship. He initially denied the rumors but ultimately chose to be open with his family.
