Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's famous nickname has an unexpected connection to the 2001 film 'Save the Last Dance.' Actress Julia Stiles, who starred in the dance movie, recently learned about this surprising inspiration. Stiles expressed her astonishment upon hearing the news.
Polizzi shared that a childhood friend originally gave her the nickname. This occurred after she was the first among her friends to kiss a boy. The friend reportedly used a line from a DJ character in 'Save the Last Dance' for inspiration.
Although her friend was the only one initially using the moniker, 'Snooki' later stuck. Polizzi adopted it when she was applying to be part of the cast for the MTV show 'Jersey Shore' in the early 2000s. The nickname has since become synonymous with the reality television personality.
