On October 5th, 2025, NBC's Saturday Night Live returned for its 51st season with a special skit parodying the hit Netflix series 'KPop Demon Hunters'. The season premiere, hosted by Bad Bunny, centered around a group of friends reconnecting after a long time.
While the others discuss their excitement over new movies, Bad Bunny's character, Thomas, repeatedly brings up his love for 'KPop Demon Hunters'. He insists the show is based on a true story and that the songs of the fictional K-pop girl group Huntr/x are used as weapons against demons.
Suddenly, Bowen Yang appears dressed as the demon Jinu from the series and demands the friends' souls. When one of the characters turns demonic, Thomas summons Huntr/x for help. The skit ends with Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, the members of Huntr/x, performing a snippet of their hit song "Golden".
'KPop Demon Hunters' has taken the world by storm since its release in June, breaking viewership records for Netflix. The surprise SNL appearance by Huntr/x precedes the group's first announced televised performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on October 7th.
