SNL Overlooks Tribute to Late R&B Legend D'Angelo

D'Angelo had performed on SNL on January 31, 2015, to support his critically acclaimed comeback album, "Black Messiah." During his powerful second performance, D'Angelo's backing band and vocalists wore "Black Lives Matter" and "I Can't Breathe" shirts, highlighting the social issues of the time. However, the show surprisingly did not acknowledge his passing near the latest episode's airdate.
