The "Joke Swap" segment on Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update is generating significant buzz, with fans anticipating an exceptionally "vicious" exchange. A recent on-air moment, where Colin Jost delivered a joke about Golden Globe nominations to Michael Che, was interpreted by viewers as a clear signal for an upcoming, intense joke swap.
Che's subtle reaction, described as a "glare" and a "side-eye," has led many to believe he is mentally preparing a particularly sharp set of jokes for Jost. This segment, held twice yearly, involves each host reading jokes written by the other, often pushing boundaries with content that could be career-ending or personally damaging.
The next "Joke Swap" is expected on the upcoming pre-Christmas episode, hosted by Ariana Grande. While not officially announced, this tradition historically generates viral content. The ongoing tenure of Che and Jost as hosts adds to the intrigue, as fans appreciate every barbed joke exchanged between them.
