31 Aug

Summary

Justin Hartley's Green Arrow was to star in a spin-off series.
The proposed show was potentially titled 'Metropolis'.
This spin-off was considered between seasons 6 and 7.

Years before the "Arrowverse" took hold, Justin Hartley's Green Arrow was almost the subject of a different television spin-off. Hartley revealed during a podcast appearance that "Smallville" explored ideas for shows centered on his character. One such concept, potentially named "Metropolis," would have featured Oliver Queen alongside Lois Lane.

The development of this spin-off likely occurred between "Smallville" Seasons 6 and 7. This timeframe aligns with Oliver Queen's romantic storyline involving Erica Durance's Lois Lane. Ultimately, Lois Lane's narrative on "Smallville" concluded with her relationship with Tom Welling's Clark Kent.
