Sleep Token's II Signs with Kobalt Amidst Global Fame

Kobalt has officially announced the signing of II, the enigmatic drummer and primary songwriter for the highly acclaimed band Sleep Token. This move underscores the anonymous British act's significant global momentum following a series of major achievements.

II is recognized as the driving force behind Sleep Token's distinctive rhythmic sound, which masterfully blends modern metal with elements of jazz, electronic music, and cinematic percussion. His contributions have been instrumental in crafting the band's immersive live shows and unique artistic identity.

This signing follows an exceptional period for Sleep Token. Their hit song "Caramel" garnered widespread critical acclaim, and their most recent album, "Even in Arcadia," saw all ten of its tracks chart on the Billboard Hot 100. The album debuted at number one on both the Billboard 200 and the UK's Official Albums Chart, also dominating multiple Billboard categories.

Internationally, "Even in Arcadia" achieved number one status in numerous markets, including Canada, Australia, Germany, and New Zealand. Sleep Token concluded 2025 with two Grammy nominations: best metal performance for "Emergence" and best rock song for "Caramel," with II nominated as a co-songwriter for the latter.

Melissa Emert-Hutner, Kobalt's senior vice president of creative, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "Sleep Token are not only an extraordinary band -- they are reshaping the sound, feel, and emotional impact of music today." She highlighted the immersive nature of their live performances and the artistic merit of their albums.
