Cinematographer Jon B. Elliot's debut feature, Skin Games, is now filming in Vancouver and British Columbia. This indie road trip drama stars Forrest Goodluck and Phillip Forest Lewitski as two young Indigenous men from vastly different backgrounds who meet in a Vancouver jail.
Lewitski plays Jesse, a white-passing college student, while Goodluck portrays Russell, a political activist and artist from New Mexico. Despite their disparate upbringings, they discover a kinship.
Upon their release, the duo embarks on a cross-border road trip to New Mexico, where they confront their personal demons and evolving identities. The film boasts an all-Indigenous cast, including William Belleau and Carmen Moore.
Photon Films will distribute Skin Games in Canada. Producer Jessie Anthony is presenting the film to international buyers at TIFF: The Market in Toronto. The production is a collaboration between Vandal Productions, Pass Through Productions, and Oystercatcher Films.
