Summary
- A new dual-launch straddle coaster, the Quantum Accelerator, opens in 2026.
- Riders experience two launches, reaching 30 mph then 45 mph.
- The ride features steampunk-themed hover bikes and 11 moments of airtime.
Six Flags New England will debut the Quantum Accelerator, a new family-friendly thrill coaster, in 2026. This innovative ride abandons the conventional uphill climb for a unique dual-launch system. Riders will first accelerate from 0 to 30 miles per hour, followed by a second, faster launch of 45 miles per hour.
The Quantum Accelerator's design is equally unconventional, featuring steampunk-themed hover bikes with handlebars instead of traditional seats. This allows riders to lean forward, enhancing the sense of acceleration and adventure. The ride promises an exhilarating experience with numerous twists, turns, and 11 distinct moments of airtime.
Originally slated for a 2025 opening, the debut of the Quantum Accelerator has been postponed to 2026. Park officials cited a commitment to quality, comfort, and reliability as the reason for the delay, ensuring the attraction meets high standards before its grand opening. Construction was officially completed in March 2025.
