Tamil Film 'Jana Nayagan' Leak Foiled: Six Arrested

The Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing has apprehended six individuals implicated in the illicit online dissemination of the Tamil film 'Jana Nayagan'. Authorities acted swiftly following the unauthorized release of the movie online. A formal case was lodged at the state cyber crime investigation center, invoking sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Information Technology Act, the Copyright Act, and the Cinematograph Act.

Special teams were instrumental in identifying and blocking infringing digital links, analyzing electronic evidence, and tracing those responsible for uploading and distributing the pirated film. The accused were subsequently presented before a magistrate court in Chennai and remanded into judicial custody. Concurrently, efforts are underway to deactivate more than 300 web links that were facilitating access to the pirated content. The cybercrime unit is actively monitoring various online platforms to curb further circulation and apprehend other involved parties. Individuals found downloading or sharing pirated material face stringent legal action, as it is a cognizable offense. The public is encouraged to report any observed instances of piracy through the national cybercrime portal or helpline.
