Sydney is poised to welcome the highly acclaimed three-Michelin-starred restaurant, SingleThread, for a landmark four-week residency. This marks the first time the celebrated Californian fine-dining establishment will operate in Australia. From July 28 to August 23, SingleThread will collaborate with Sydney's Bathers' Pavilion at Balmoral Beach.
The residency will feature SingleThread's signature farm-to-table dining philosophy, emphasizing ultra-seasonal produce. A 10-course tasting menu, priced at $690 per person, will be presented. The menu draws inspiration from Californian seasonality through a Japanese lens, highlighting ingredients harvested at their peak.
This exclusive engagement is expected to generate intense demand when bookings open on March 12 at 10am. The Bathers' Pavilion dining room will be transformed to emulate the SingleThread experience, including custom tableware and art installations. This event follows Bathers' Pavilion's successful collaborations with other world-renowned restaurants.
Chefs Kyle and Katina Connaughton, the duo behind SingleThread since its 2016 opening, bring a unique culinary background. Kyle Connaughton's experience includes time at The Fat Duck and training in Japanese and French kitchens. Bathers' executive chef Aaron Ward will visit Sonoma to collaborate on menu development.
