Simon Cowell's new boyband, December 10, is set to release their debut single this month, sparking a look back at his previous musical groups. Cowell's Netflix docuseries, 'Simon Cowell: The Next Act,' chronicled the formation of December 10.
While One Direction remains his crowning achievement, Cowell also assembled successful girl groups like Little Mix and Fifth Harmony. However, his career is also marked by numerous disbanded acts.
Rak-Su made history in 2017 as the first male group to win The X Factor, releasing their winner's single 'Dimelo' to chart success. They later parted ways with Cowell's Syco label to pursue independent careers.
In 2019, the girl group Real Like You, later RLY, won The X Factor: The Band. Despite their victory, they did not release a winner's single and permanently disbanded in June 2024.
Other notable groups include Stereo Kicks, formed in 2014, and Union J, who emerged in 2012. While Union J achieved moderate success, Stereo Kicks' member Reece Bibby later joined New Hope Club.
