Cowell's Back: Another Surgery Looms for AGT Star

Simon Cowell is scheduled for another back surgery in August 2026, a procedure his representative has described as routine. This news emerges six years after the America's Got Talent judge suffered a serious injury in a 2020 electric bike accident.

Cowell broke his back while testing an e-bike at his Malibu home in August 2020. The incident led to a five-hour surgery to repair the damage, which included fusions and the insertion of a metal rod. He has previously shared that the accident could have been far worse, potentially leaving him unable to walk.

During his recovery from the 2020 incident, Cowell focused on physical therapy, including swimming and walking, to regain strength. He also experienced a setback in February 2022 when he broke his arm after falling off an e-bike in London. Despite these challenges, Cowell continues to ride e-bikes.

For his upcoming absence in America's Got Talent season 21, guest judges are expected to fill in. Cowell's representative assured that his return to the show is anticipated within a few weeks following the routine surgery.
