Sicario 3 Rumors: Producer Gives Hope for Sequel
21 Aug
Summary
- Producer confirms ongoing discussions for Sicario 3.
- Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, Benicio del Toro may return.
- Taylor Sheridan's busy schedule is a potential obstacle.

Discussions are actively underway for a potential Sicario 3, according to producer Thad Luckinbill. He expressed enthusiasm for a third installment, stating, "We're hoping to do it, so fingers crossed." The producer also suggested that the original cast, including Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, and Benicio del Toro, could return for the film.
Luckinbill acknowledged that the primary obstacle might be securing the time of Sicario writer Taylor Sheridan, who is currently heavily involved in numerous television projects. "It's hard; he's so busy," Luckinbill stated, but remained hopeful that Sheridan's busy schedule would not prevent the film's realization.
This optimism is echoed by Josh Brolin, who has previously declared Sicario 3 is "happening" and "soon." The original 2015 film, directed by Denis Villeneuve, received three Oscar nominations and was critically acclaimed. The sequel, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, was released in 2018.
