Si King's Poignant Grief: 'I looked for Dave'

Hairy Bikers star Si King has opened up about the profound impact of losing his close friend and co-star Dave Myers, who passed away in February 2024. Nearly two years after Myers' cancer diagnosis and subsequent death, King admits to still experiencing moments of disbelief. He recounted an instance while riding his motorcycle where he automatically looked for Myers, only to be met with the harsh reality of his absence.

King described his grief as an ongoing, 'very odd' experience marked by a significant "mix of emotions" that can arise without warning. These feelings encompass anger, frustration, sadness, and disappointment. He cherishes the "fruitful and fulfilling time" he shared with Myers, choosing to focus on their happy memories rather than dwelling solely on the loss.

The TV chef also touched upon his own health challenges, including a severe brain aneurysm in 2014 that significantly impacted his mobility. Furthermore, King reflected on the demanding nature of their profession, which he acknowledged affected his family life, leading to his divorce in 2016. He also recalled instances of danger encountered during their global adventures.
