18 Feb
Summary
- Rapper Shyne was not interviewed for the Diddy docuseries.
- Shyne accused Combs of derailing his life and being a scapegoat.
- Combs accused doc producers of using 'stolen' footage.

A new four-part docuseries, produced by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and directed by Alexandria Stapleton, examines Sean "Diddy" Combs' career and recent legal troubles. While many former associates were interviewed, rapper Shyne, born Jamal Barrow, was not. Shyne, who was once signed to Combs' Bad Boy Records, has spoken out about the series.
In 2024, Shyne released his own documentary, "The Honorable Shyne," accusing Combs of derailing his life and using him as a "scapegoat" in a 1999 nightclub shooting. Combs was acquitted of charges related to the incident, while Shyne was convicted and served nine years in prison before being deported to Belize.
Shyne expressed empathy for the victims who spoke out in "The Reckoning." Although he has not seen the docuseries, he appears to support its aim of accountability within the hip-hop community. Producer 50 Cent has maintained that his personal history with Combs did not influence his decision to create the show.
Sean Combs has disputed the docuseries, accusing 50 Cent and Stapleton of utilizing "stolen" footage, a claim they deny. The series is available on Netflix, while "The Honorable Shyne" can be streamed on Hulu.
