Shriya Pilgaonkar: 5-Year Film Hiatus Ends!

Shriya Pilgaonkar is set to make her theatrical comeback in 'Haiwaan,' a film scheduled for release in 2026, after a five-year absence from cinemas. Directed by Priyadarshan and featuring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, this project signifies a pivotal new chapter for the actor, who has recently gained prominence on OTT platforms.

Pilgaonkar expressed a clear intention at the start of 2026 to move beyond her comfort zone and embrace fearless career choices, with a dedicated focus on big-screen projects. Collaborating with filmmakers and actors she admires, like Priyadarshan, Saif Ali Khan, and Akshay Kumar, is a deeply fulfilling experience for her.

While grateful for her successful journey on OTT, Pilgaonkar emphasizes the importance of balance and intentional focus on films to avoid being typecast. She also addressed speculation about a potential return in 'Mirzapur The Film,' suggesting that some aspects of her career should remain a delightful surprise for the audience.
