Korean Studio Launches New Short-Form Content Label

Korean film and content studio Showbox has officially launched Showbite, a new label dedicated to producing original short-form content. This initiative is slated to begin rolling out new dramas in September 2026, covering a wide array of genres from romance and comedy to more intense themes like revenge, action-thriller, period drama, fantasy, mystery, and horror.

Showbite's upcoming slate includes titles such as "Taste of You," an enemies-to-lovers romance, and "Love in Thailand," a romantic comedy. Other offerings delve into office romance, second-chance love stories, and a K-pop idol's life-altering experience. Female-driven revenge narratives like "The Fallen Heiress Returns Wicked" and action thrillers like "Asura: Return of the Reaper" are also featured.

Further diversifying its content, Showbite will present historical dramas such as "The Secret Wife Exchange" and reincarnation fantasy in "Her Royal Queen Energy." The label also explores mystery and horror with "Bridal Shower: The Missing Bride" and "Lucky Horror Live Show," promising a broad appeal.

Showbox designed Showbite to merge its established storytelling prowess with the dynamic nature of short-form drama, with the explicit goal of bringing Korean stories to a global audience. To facilitate this, Showbite will establish official TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube accounts in early September 2026 for content updates. The label will also actively participate in industry events like Broadcast Worldwide in Seoul and the Busan International Film Festival's Asian Contents & Film Market to forge partnerships and broaden its distribution reach.
