Showbox, a prominent Korean film and content studio, has introduced a new microdrama label named Showbite. This new venture is set to begin releasing original short-form content in September, catering to a wide array of genres. These will include romance, comedy, revenge-themed narratives, action-thrillers, period dramas, fantasy, mystery, and horror.
The Showbite slate features several compelling titles. Romance offerings include 'Taste of You' and 'Love in Thailand,' alongside office romance and second-chance love stories. Female-driven revenge content such as 'The Fallen Heiress Returns Wicked' is also planned, alongside the action crime-thriller 'Asura: Return of the Reaper.'
Further expanding its scope, Showbite will delve into historical and fantasy genres with 'The Secret Wife Exchange' and 'Her Royal Queen Energy.' The mystery and horror categories are represented by titles like 'Bridal Shower: The Missing Bride' and 'Lucky Horror Live Show.'
Showbite aims to leverage Showbox's storytelling background with the dynamic pace of short-form drama, bringing Korean narratives to a worldwide audience. The label will attend industry events like Broadcast Worldwide and the Busan International Film Festival's Asian Contents & Film Market to forge distribution partnerships. Official TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube accounts for Showbite are scheduled to launch in early September.
