Shocking Sci-Fi Thriller Exposes Deadly Side Effects of Cosmetic Immortality

In an upcoming FX sci-fi thriller, creator Ryan Murphy is set to unveil a chilling tale of a "fountain of youth" drug developed by billionaires that comes with a deadly catch. According to the preview at New York Comic Con on October 12, 2025, the series, titled "The Beauty," centers around a drug that seems to offer eternal youth, but in reality, users only have 855 days before they violently self-destruct.

The story begins with a spate of "exploding supermodels" being captured on cellphones around the world. FBI agents Evan Peters and Rebecca Hall are called in to investigate, including the murder of a model found dead in her bed with her chest sliced open. However, the real horror lies in the drug's side effects, which Murphy describes as "self-ignition ketosis" - a process where users literally "burn from within and collapse into what looks to be something out of the movie Alien."

The series also follows the journeys of other characters, including billionaire Ashton Kutcher's character, who is determined to dilute the drug's formula to maximize profits, and actors Jeremy Pope and Anthony Ramos, who encounter a feral, transformed woman during their investigation. According to the panel, the show blends "heightened genres," including action, body horror, romance, and comedy, as the characters grapple with the consequences of this deadly "fountain of youth."
