Shobhaa De Slams Mirzapur: The Movie: "Monotonous!"

Shobhaa De has voiced her strong criticism of "Mirzapur: The Movie," stating it "should not have been made." Despite the franchise's popularity, De found the film monotonous and questioned its existence. She admitted to falling asleep during the screening, with others around her also dozing off.

While De lauded Ravi Kishan's "brilliant" performance and Ali Fazal's "unbelievably good" portrayal, she found Pankaj Tripathi's acting to be "monotonous." She also expressed surprise at Tripathi's intimate scene with Rasika Dugal, whom she described as "vamp-ish."

De further criticized the film's excessive violence and a storyline that "goes nowhere." She spent Rs 900 on the ticket and Rs 260 on snacks, questioning the four hours spent watching a movie with randomly strung-together scenes. She concluded that the film was perhaps "meant for men," and not for her.

"Mirzapur" originally premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2018 and has aired three seasons. The movie, released on September 4, featured original cast members and new additions.
