In November 2025, actress Shilpa Shirodkar, who is currently promoting her comeback film Jatadhara, opened up about her close relationship with her brother-in-law, renowned Telugu actor Mahesh Babu. Shilpa described Mahesh as a "genuinely kind and grounded person" who only wants the best for everyone, with no trace of malice, jealousy, or envy.
Shilpa, who is the sister of Mahesh's wife Namrata Shirodkar, expressed admiration for Mahesh's work, saying she is a fan of his acting. While the two have not yet collaborated on a project, Shilpa hinted that if Jatadhara is successful, she may approach Mahesh about the possibility.
Shilpa's own career has seen ups and downs, with a successful Bollywood debut in the late 1980s followed by a hiatus after her marriage in 2000. She later transitioned to television before making a brief comeback in 2020. Now, with the mythological horror drama Jatadhara, Shilpa is excited to return to the big screen in a significant role.
As for Mahesh Babu, he was last seen in the 2024 film Guntur Kaaram and is currently working on a highly anticipated action-adventure project with acclaimed director SS Rajamouli.
