Shōgun Season 2 Cast Expands with Exciting New Additions

Filming has commenced in Vancouver for the highly anticipated second season of the Emmy-winning drama, Shōgun. Several new actors, including Risei Kukihara, Ryô Satô, Seishiro Nishida, Mantaro Koichi, and Takashi Yamaguchi, have been added to the cast. While their specific roles remain undisclosed, character names such as Gabriel, Rin, and Jōshin have been revealed.
Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis are confirmed to return as their original characters. The production is expected to debut sometime in 2027, more than a decade after the events of the initial season. A significant portion of the original cast, including Fumi Nikaidô and Shinnosuke Abe, will also reprise their roles.
The series, developed by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks based on James Clavell's novel, is produced by FX Productions. Sanada is among the executive producers, alongside Michaela Clavell, Edward L. McDonnell, and Michael De Luca.
